ABOUT EMILIA ASHBY
BIOGRAPHY
Emilia Ashby is a self-portrait artist working in photography, exploring the shifting relationship between identity, technology and performance. Working across portraiture and fashion construction, she has developed a distinct and consistent visual language, creating speculative, research-led narratives that examine how emerging technologies shape belief, human connection and our understanding of ourselves. Drawing on themes of artificial intelligence, religion and mental health, her images blur the line between fiction and reality, inviting viewers to question what it means to be human in an increasingly technological world.
Her work with brands and magazines has opened space for close collaboration with clients and their teams. She brings bold, striking visuals to every project, helping each client's vision emerge through her lens.
Winner of The Graduate Art Prize, 2024.
